Dans le cas d\u2019une batterie, les oxydants sont des substances chimiques comme l\u2019hydroxyde de potassium qui r\u00e9agissent avec des m\u00e9taux comme le zinc pour former des compos\u00e9s comme l\u2019oxyde de zinc. Ces oxydes sont ce que nous appelons des cathodes.  <\/p><p>Les r\u00e9ducteurs sont des substances chimiques qui agissent comme des catalyseurs, acc\u00e9l\u00e9rant le processus de r\u00e9duction. Ils sont souvent utilis\u00e9s car ils ne r\u00e9agissent pas avec la d\u00e9gradation du m\u00e9tal. Un exemple de r\u00e9ducteur est l\u2019acide sulfurique. L\u2019acide sulfurique r\u00e9agit avec l\u2019hydrog\u00e8ne pour produire de la vapeur d\u2019eau. La vapeur d\u2019eau ne fait pas grand-chose \u00e0 part s\u2019\u00e9vaporer.
