The Jongia Multiprop mixer: breaking floating layers in biogas tanks
Floating layers causing problems? We’ve seen it before.
Over time, fibrous material can build up into a floating layer that traps biogas beneath the surface and drastically slows down liquid flow. Sound familiar?
Jongia has designed a solution: the Multiprop mixer!
This mixer combines two functions in one:
- Propulsion – generating flow velocity throughout the liquid
- Crust-breaking – pulling the floating layer down and propelling it through the propeller
Three Key Results
This unique combination delivers three key results:
- The floating layer is broken up
- The floating layer is flushed away
- A homogeneous liquid is created
Another key advantage: since the mixer’s positioning is independent of the tank level, it continuously breaks up the floating layer and drives floating material toward the propeller — at all times.
Key Advantages
The Jongia Multiprop also features a shaft seal positioned above the liquid surface rather than below it. That’s a real benefit:
- No leakage along the seal
- No bottom bearing required — because bottom bearings in biogas tanks are simply asking for trouble
