Safety Day at Jongia Mixing Technology

One day a year dedicated to safety

Today we took time to focus on safety and safe working practices. Each year, every company within the De Dietrich Group holds one Safety Day: a day to pause and reflect on what safety means for us, for each individual, and for one another. Above all, safety must always be front of mind.

Safety comes first in our mindset

The day opened with a welcome address from our CEO, Mr. Jacques Moulin. In his speech, he outlined everything the De Dietrich Group invests in to safeguard our safety as effectively as possible. But far more important, he said, is that safety always comes first in our mindset. De Dietrich is committed to supporting that, because no unnecessary hazards should remain in our organizations.

Rescuing a technician from a storage tank

This was followed by a demonstration of rescuing a technician from a storage tank, which ultimately involved the fire brigade using their own equipment to free the “victim” from the tank. It was spectacular!

Jongia colleagues gathered behind the yellow safety railing in the production hall to watch the rescue demonstration.

Workplace inspections as QHSE officers

Two workshops followed, in which all colleagues were split into groups and carried out workplace inspections as QHSE officers, taking a critical look at safe and unsafe situations. Afterwards, all findings were reviewed and grouped into the following categories:

  • People
  • Environment
  • Material

However well a company may have its employee protection in order, there is always room for improvement. But how you ultimately handle safety – and how you experience it – is what matters most.

Safety Day was rounded off with everyone enjoying a hearty stamppot buffet together!

SAFETY IS A MINDSET!
