A.P. van den Berg from Heerenveen, Jongia from Leeuwarden and Wajer Yachts from Heeg are the proud finalists of the Election Frisian Company of the Year (VFO) 2022.

On Monday, March 7, six nominated companies competed for a final spot.

The process of arriving at one winner starts with a long “pitch list. This list is based on nominated businesses. Entrepreneurs, municipalities, business associations, employee, friends and family nominate a business – or their own. A working group ultimately selects six nominees and these six nominees present themselves to the jury. After the nomination is accepted, the six companies participate in the Business Maturity Model Scan (BMM). That scan assesses the “maturity” of the nominated companies in terms of strategy, degree of innovation, operations and financial results. The latter part was then further explored by financial specialists from Rabobank.

In addition to all the key data coming out of the MUMM scan, the numerical justification and In its assessment of the presentation, the jury will be inspired and led by the innovation and inventiveness within the companies. They will also consider the extent to which the companies are able to create and exploit opportunities that arise as a result of changing (market) conditions. Naturally, attention is paid to the company’s sustainable policy with regard to human capital and the environment.

Leading up to the final at Tuesday, April 12 the jury will visit all three finalists for an in-depth look at the business, the product, the market and the people who work there. The jury consists of entrepreneur Jennifer Westers, entrepreneur René de Heij and Last year’s winner Pieter Kooi from Kooi and is led by Friso Douwstra, a member of the Provincial Executive. The three finalists are preparing for the finals where they will present themselves to enterprising Fryslân, fans and of course the jury. Elske DeWall will present the final.
